Hot chocolate winter craft idea for kids
Out of many food items that comfort us during winter, hot cocoa with marshmallows is a hot favourite!
This creamy hot drink is perfect for relaxing during cold winter days.
Unfortunately, this is not a recipe post, but a craft idea to recreate this winter treat in a simple way.
So, let’s see how we can make hot cocoa with marshmallows using our free template, paint and some cotton balls.

Materials required:
- Watercolor paint (or any paint of your choice)
- Black marker pen
- Cardboard piece
- Cotton balls
- Scissors
- Glue

Step 1: Download and print the free chocolate mug template
Download and print the cocoa mug template. You can download them from the library by signing up using the form available in the next section.

Step 2: Paint the chocolate mugs
Start by painting the cups with the colouring tool of your choice. We used watercolour paint.
After painting, you can use a black marker to draw the outline to make the mugs look more vivid.
After colouring, cut all the mugs and the respective handles out from the template.
Now, take a cardboard piece and stick each mug and its handle to the cardboard piece.
After sticking them to the cardboard piece, cut the mug and handle out. And then glue the handle to the cup.
Now, let’s put the marshmallows on the hot chocolate (yum!).
Apply glue onto the chocolate part. We put three dots of glue on the chocolate and then stuck three little cotton balls on the glue dots.
Hot chocolate with marshmallows is ready! Don’t they look pretty? I can almost drink it!
