Start with a piece of cream construction paper.

Cut it into a rectangular shape that will be large enough for the elf’s face.

This will form the main face of your paper elf.

Glue two googly eyes onto the white face.

Step 2: Add the nose

Use a black marker to draw a cheerful smile underneath the nose.

Next, cut out two ear shapes from cream paper.

Glue one ear to each side of the elf’s face.

Your little elf now has a cute face ready to be assembled!

Step 4: Prepare the elf’s body

Now let’s give the elf his festive collar!

Take a piece of red construction paper and cut a strip with a zigzag edge.

Glue the strip across the top of the green body, just underneath the elf’s face.

Make sure the zigzag edge faces downward.

Step 6: Make the elf’s hat

Take a piece of green construction paper and cut out a large triangle for the elf’s hat.

Place the hat above the elf’s head and glue it in position.

Make sure the bottom of the hat sits neatly across the top of the elf’s face.

Step 7: Add the hat trim

Now add the decorative trim to the elf’s hat.

Cut a scalloped strip from brown paper and a straight strip from white paper.

Glue the strips across the bottom of the green hat, creating a fun patterned trim.

Step 8: Bend the hat and add the pom-pom

Give the elf’s hat a playful look by bending the top of the hat slightly to one side.

Then, glue a white pom-pom onto the tip of the hat.

Press it gently into place and let the glue set.

Step 9: Add the buttons
