Step 2: Trace and cut the apron card base

Place the printed template on top of your colored paper.
Using a pencil, trace the apron outline from the template onto the colored paper. Make sure to trace the full shape so the apron will fold like a card.
Next, carefully cut along the traced outline with scissors.
Once the shape is cut out, gently fold the apron along the center line. This creates the opening for your card so it can open and close like a greeting card.
Step 3: Make and attach the apron pocket

Now it’s time to make the pocket.
Start by tracing the pocket shape from the template onto a piece of patterned paper. Floral paper works beautifully for this craft.
If you don’t have patterned paper, you can use normal colored paper too.
Cut out the pocket carefully along the outline.
Next, apply glue to the back of the pocket piece (see the dotted lines), leaving the top edge without glue so it can actually hold the tools.
Then place the pocket onto the front of the apron card and press gently so it sticks well.
Step 4: Color and prepare the kitchen tools

Using the small tool illustrations on the template, start by coloring the whisk, rolling pin, and spatula with colored pencils or markers.
Take your time adding color to each piece so they look bright and fun.
Once you finish coloring, cut out each tool carefully along the outline.
These little tools will later slide into the apron pocket.
Next, cut a strip of yellow paper(or any other color) and create a scalloped edge along one side. This will become the decorative trim at the bottom of the apron.
Glue this scalloped strip along the bottom edge of the apron to give it a cute apron-style finish.
Slide the whisk, rolling pin, and spatula gently into the apron pocket so they peek out from the top.
Step 5: Add the apron strap and message inside

To make the apron hanger, use a hole punch to make two small holes near the top of the apron.
Thread a piece of yarn through the holes and tie it so it forms a loop.
Then tie a small bow with another short piece of yarn just below the strap to give it the look of an apron tie.
Open the card and glue a square piece of white paper inside. This will be the message area where kids can write a sweet Mother’s Day note.
Step 7: Add sparkle and final decorations

To finish the card, apply a little glitter glue around the apron for a fun sparkly effect.
You can gently spread or tap the glitter so it creates a soft shimmer on the apron.
Finally, decorate with small heart stickers or cut-out hearts to make the card extra special.
Let everything dry, and your Mother’s Day apron card is ready to gift.
